Wade in the Water Project and Films
Media Partner and Producers for the Wade in the Water: A Journey into Black Surfing and Aquatic Culture reclaims the 1,000-year-old tradition of Black surfing. Braiding historical accounts with modern-day testimonials, the film dismantles the racial barriers of conventional surf culture, delves into the overlooked history of Black surfing's legacy, and honors its current movement—inspiring the next generation of Black surfers.

VANS invited Withitgirl to participate as part of their WOMEN'S MEDIA TEAM. Through the leadership and mentorship of Beth O'Rourke, Withitgirl provides young media producers and journalists the opportunity to travel and COVER van's sponsored EVENTS, including Vans Duct tape, US Open Surfing, and Vans Pipeline Masters.

International Surf Therapy Organization
(ISTO)
ISTO is a global collective of the world's leading surf therapy practitioners, clinicians, researchers, and influencers, harnessing the power of collaboration and the ocean to advance the use of surf therapy. ISTO facilitates understanding through research, promotes better practices, and advocates for surf therapy to be used globally as a mental and physical health intervention. ISTO's mission is to create inclusive access to safe surf therapy worldwide, and its vision is universal acceptance of surf therapy through prescription. Their most significant contribution to the sector is facilitating high-impact research on the effectiveness of surf therapy in the first-ever academic journal dedicated to surf therapy research.

Earth Charter Institute (ECI)
ECI is the organization that powers the Earth Charter global movement with information, networking, and education to turn conscience into action. The Earth Charter (EC) is a document with sixteen principles powering a global movement. When you apply it to your business, school, or community, you begin turning conscience into action to make all life on Earth thrive. The EC is an ethical foundation for actions to build a more just, sustainable, and peaceful global society in the 21st century. It articulates a mindset of global interdependence and shared responsibility. It offers a vision of hope and a call to action. The Earth Charter document starts with the Preamble, followed by the four pillars: Respect and Care for the Community of LifeEcological IntegritySocial and Economic Justice, and Democracy, Nonviolence, and Peace. It concludes with The Way Forward.

Please send a request through our contact page to be considered for a WITHITGIRL scholarship for EC Youth Leadership Certification Course. The training program seeks to enhance young people’s skills and knowledge to be ethical and effective sustainability leaders and implement Earth Charter-inspired projects, contributing towards a more sustainable and peaceful world. Participants of this program will receive an Earth Charter International certificate as recognition of their successful completion of the “Leadership, Sustainability and Ethics” training and an invitation to become an Earth Charter Young Leader. Note: you must be between 18-30 yrs old to apply.
